English Conversation Classes at Kingswood Language School are for people who would like to improve their conversation skills.
Our aim is to help our students increase their confidence and improve their fluency when speaking English.
How do we do this?
We listen very carefully to your reasons for joining our conversation classes and find materials to suit your needs.
We do not over correct errors in the class. Instead we listen to your spoken English and prepare materials that help to correct your most frequent errors in the following classes.
Our teachers do not do all of the talking. We make sure our teachers always listen more than they talk. In our classes we encourage the students to talk for at least 70% of the time.
Most importantly....we encourage our students to prepare their own topics for conversation. We help them talk about the topics they usually talk about with their family, friends and colleagues.
At Kingswood Language School, you do the work, you do the talking, while we listen, guide and help you.
Every language course at Kingswood Language School begins with a Free 1 hour Assessment Class and then a Free 1 hour Trial Lesson.
In the Free Assessment Class the teacher and student(s) get to know each other. The student(s) tell the teacher why they want to join the course and the teacher listens very carefully to the student(s), assessing their strengths and weaknesses, and making a note of any repeated language errors. The student(s) are also given their homework which is to prepare 10 questions for the next class and write a short journal.
In the Free Trial Lesson the student(s) and teacher use the homework questions as conversation topics for the class. The teacher will also prepare a short, easy reading passage for the student(s) to read and talk about in the next class.
